I'm not in the photo.... but I actually drove this truck number on numerous occasions.

In the last 3 months that I was there, we had 3 tires explode... and although I wasn't anywhere near them in the mine, I could hear the explosion in my cab. The tires are 13.5' tall and weigh over 10k.

One of the guys that originally trained me told me that he was on a site that had a tire explode while a pick-up truck was parked beside it (about 10' away), and the explosion was strong enough to crush the side of the truck and pushed it +10 away.

We had a safety rep tell us that a tire blow out could send shrapnel up to 2km.

2KMS!!! Holy Fawk!!
